Ingredients​

• 1 large chicken about 1 ½ kg, cut into 6-8 portions

• 1 COOK at HOME cooking sauce for Chicken Casserole in tomato sauce

• 40ml olive oil (about 2 ½ tablespoons)

• 400g orzo, medium

• 1.300ml water (about 5 cups)

• Salt-pepper

• 100g dry mizithra cheese for serving (optional)

Method

1. Season the chicken pieces with salt and pepper and sauté in olive oil, over high heat, until lightly browned.

2. Add the entire COOK at HOME cooking sauce, about 1 cup of water (300ml) and stir well.

3. Cover the pot and simmer over medium heat until the chicken is cooked (about 45’). During cooking, check the food and add a little water if needed.

4. Then, add about 4 cups of water (1.000ml) and once it boils, add the orzo. Taste if necessary to add salt and pepper and cook on low heat for 8-10 minutes, stirring constantly to prevent it from ‘sticking’. Remove from heat.

Serving suggestion

Serve with grated mizithra cheese.

Tip: For better texture of the orzo, remove from the heat 2-3 minutes before it is completely soft and let the pot covered for a few minutes.
